'''Constellation Tower''' is a Level 240+ party instance with randomized monster floors, optional checkpoint bosses, and final encounters against Naght Sieger or Betelgeuse.
'''Constellation Tower''' is a high-level party instance on Misty Island. Players climb randomized monster floors, fight special bosses, adjust Betelgeuse's difficulty, and earn Meteorite materials, boss souls, treasure chests, and possible costume rewards.

'''Important:''' Regular tower monsters and fifth-floor checkpoint bosses do not receive special direct drops from this instance script. The main rewards come from final-boss NPC dialogue and Betelgeuse treasure boxes.
The instance has two main boss routes:

== Tower Progression ==
Constellation Tower contains up to '''75 floors'''. Regular floors use randomized monsters, so each run can be different.

== Tower Progression ==
=== Clearing Floors ===
* Floors contain randomized monsters selected from monster IDs 20998 to 21046.

* Every fifth floor also summons one random boss selected from IDs 21325 to 21358.
# Defeat all required normal monsters in the current area.
* Defeat all required regular monsters to unlock the next portal.
# The progression portal unlocks after the required monsters are defeated.
* The fifth-floor random boss is optional and is not required to unlock the floor.
# Only the party leader can activate important floor portals.
* Only the party leader can activate floor portals and important route choices.
# Continue through all five areas to advance through the tower.
* The tower continues to Floor 75.

A random boss appears on every fifth floor. The fifth-floor boss is optional for progression, but defeating it may provide additional Meteorite rewards.

=== Monster Drop Information ===
=== Tower Monster Drops ===
'''The tower's regular monsters do not automatically drop items from their original field versions.'''

* Regular floor monsters may drop nothing directly.
* Regular tower monsters may drop '''Meteorite Dust'''.
* Random bosses on every fifth floor may also drop nothing directly.
* Fifth-floor bosses may drop '''Meteorite Dust''' and '''Meteorite Fragment'''.
* The instance script has no reward event for killing the optional fifth-floor boss.
* Drops are chance-based. A monster may occasionally drop nothing.
* Main rewards are provided through boss-completion dialogue and treasure boxes.
* Manually using <code>@monster 20994</code> only spawns Betelgeuse. It does not activate the instance phases, quest checks, reward calculation, or treasure boxes.

The party is sent to the final-boss area. All five Betelgeuse abilities begin at 3 stars, with a starting total difficulty of 600%.
At Floor 75, the party advances to the top-floor boss area with a fixed high-difficulty configuration.

'''Warning:''' Entering the dimensional gap is a one-way decision. The party cannot return to the tower floors during that run.

=== Battle Mechanics ===
=== Preparing for Betelgeuse ===
* '''Multiple phases:''' Betelgeuse is recreated between combat phases.
At the top floor, approach the goddess altar and speak with Oscar. The altar works as a healing fountain and, on the Betelgeuse route, controls the boss difficulty.
* '''Recovery:''' The boss periodically restores HP according to the Recovery level.
* '''Souls:''' Betelgeuse's Souls increase the boss's RES and MRES. Defeat them quickly.
* '''Moving traps:''' Traps inflict percentage-based Max HP damage. Later phases are more dangerous.
* '''Arena restriction:''' Pulling the boss outside the intended area can reset its position and trigger powerful attacks.
* '''Party check:''' If a registered member leaves the boss map, the boss may become temporarily damage-immune.
* '''Death check:''' The boss may gain temporary attack immunity while a registered party member is dead.

=== Recommended Preparation ===
The party leader can adjust five abilities:
* Bring healing and recovery supplies.
* Keep the party together.
* Avoid the moving trap lines.
* Eliminate Betelgeuse's Souls quickly.
* Do not lure Betelgeuse outside the arena.
* Assign a party member to call out traps and phase changes.

== Goddess Altar Difficulty System ==
* '''HP'''
The altar controls five Betelgeuse abilities:
* '''Attack'''
* '''Recovery'''
* '''Resistance'''
* '''Traps'''

* HP
Higher stars produce a higher total difficulty score and a stronger encounter.
* ATK
* Recovery
* Resistance
* Trap

Higher stars make the boss stronger and increase the total reward score.

Higher-difficulty completions can unlock '''Fountain's Secret 1''' and '''Fountain's Secret 2'''. These options allow the party leader to maximize or seal an ability by spending Meteorite Dust.
* '''Maximize one ability:''' Costs 150 Meteorite Dust and requires the feature to be unlocked. Maximum is 3 stars on the Floor 50 route and 5 stars on the Floor 75 route.
* '''Seal one ability:''' Costs 300 Meteorite Dust and requires the feature to be unlocked. The selected ability becomes Sealed on the Floor 50 route or 3 stars on the Floor 75 route.

The script uses whole-number division, so fractions are discarded.
The Betelgeuse hunting quest is registered for participating party members when the encounter begins.

== Betelgeuse Battle Phases ==
Betelgeuse has '''three combat phases'''. The first and second disappearances are phase transitions, not the final defeat.
=== Phase 1 ===
Fight until Betelgeuse reaches the first health threshold. The party is repositioned before the next phase.
=== Phase 2 ===
Moving traps become active. The number and type of traps depend on the selected Trap difficulty.
Betelgeuse may create '''Souls of Betelgeuse'''. Each active soul increases the boss's resistance. Destroy the souls to reduce the resistance bonus.
=== Phase 3 ===
Betelgeuse returns for the final combat phase with stronger mechanics. Defeating Betelgeuse in Phase 3 completes the encounter.
After the true final defeat:
* The final Betelgeuse NPC appears.
* The exit portal appears.
* Treasure chests appear.
* The Betelgeuse hunting quest is completed.
== Betelgeuse Personal Rewards ==
After the final phase, speak with the final '''Betelgeuse''' NPC to claim the personal reward.

== Troubleshooting ==

=== Oscar does not offer entry ===
Check that:

* The character is Base Level 240 or higher.
* The character is in a party.
* The party leader created the instance.
* The character is entering the correct party instance.
* The cooldown has expired.

=== A floor portal does not work ===
Only the party leader can operate important portals. Required normal monsters must be defeated before progression unlocks.

=== No treasure chest appeared ===
Make sure the party defeated the true Phase 3 Betelgeuse. The first and second phase transitions do not count as the final defeat.

After a server script update, create a completely new Constellation Tower instance before testing.

== Quick Walkthrough ==
=== No Soul of Betelgeuse was received ===
# Form a party with a Base Level 240+ character.
Speak with the final Betelgeuse NPC after completing the hunting quest. Soul of Betelgeuse is an NPC completion reward, not a regular ground drop.
# Speak with Captain Janssen at Alberta (214, 77).
# Pay 10,000 Zeny and travel to Misty Island.
# Speak with Oscar and create the instance.
# Enter and ask Oscar to begin.
# Defeat all required regular monsters on each floor.
# Use portals to advance, or pay Meteorite Dust to skip four floors.
# At Floor 25, select Naght Sieger or continue.
# At Floor 50, select Betelgeuse or continue to Floor 75.
# Configure the boss difficulty at the Goddess Altar.
# Defeat all phases of Betelgeuse.
# Speak with Betelgeuse to receive the direct reward.
# Open every available treasure box.
# Pick up all items from the ground.
# Use the exit portal to return to Alberta.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==
=== The final NPC did not appear ===
=== Why do regular monsters drop nothing? ===
The final NPC appears only after the real Phase 3 defeat. If the issue continues, report the party name, character name, approximate time, selected difficulty, and whether the exit portal or chests appeared.
This implementation generates them for floor progression and does not add direct scripted drops. Rewards are concentrated in final-boss NPC dialogue and treasure boxes.

=== Why does the fifth-floor boss drop nothing? ===
=== Alberta vending machines are hidden ===
The checkpoint boss is optional. Its kill event intentionally does nothing, and the floor can be unlocked without defeating it.
Complete the introductory Betelgeuse storyline, return to Alberta, and walk around:<pre>
/navi alberta 203/76
</pre>

=== Why does a manually spawned Betelgeuse give no reward? ===
== Quick Walkthrough ==
<code>@monster 20994</code> spawns only the database monster. It does not launch the instance phases, quests, difficulty score, final dialogue, or treasure-box event.

=== How do I receive the proper Betelgeuse rewards? ===

Constellation Tower is a high-level party instance on Misty Island. Players climb randomized monster floors, fight special bosses, adjust Betelgeuse's difficulty, and earn Meteorite materials, boss souls, treasure chests, and possible costume rewards.

The instance has two main boss routes:

  • Naght Sieger Route - End the climb early and fight Naght Sieger.
  • Betelgeuse Route - Continue climbing and challenge Betelgeuse for greater rewards.

Requirements

  • Minimum Base Level: 240
  • Party required: Yes
  • Instance creator: Party leader
  • Travel fee: 10,000 Zeny per character
  • Instance cooldown: 3 days and 4 hours
  • Recommended: A prepared party with damage, support, recovery items, and resistance equipment

How to Start

1. Travel to Misty Island

Speak with Captain Janssen in Alberta:

/navi alberta 214/77

Pay 10,000 Zeny to travel to Misty Island. Characters below Base Level 240 cannot enter.

2. Unlock Constellation Tower

Approach Oscar on Misty Island:

/navi e_tower 72/116

On the first visit, complete the introductory conversation involving Oscar and Leticia. This completes the introductory quest, Destroyed Tower.

3. Create and Enter the Instance

  1. Create or join a party.
  2. The party leader speaks with Oscar.
  3. Select Create Constellation Tower.
  4. Speak with Oscar again and select Enter.
  5. Party members enter the instance created by the same party leader.

Tower Progression

Constellation Tower contains up to 75 floors. Regular floors use randomized monsters, so each run can be different.

Clearing Floors

  1. Defeat all required normal monsters in the current area.
  2. The progression portal unlocks after the required monsters are defeated.
  3. Only the party leader can activate important floor portals.
  4. Continue through all five areas to advance through the tower.

A random boss appears on every fifth floor. The fifth-floor boss is optional for progression, but defeating it may provide additional Meteorite rewards.

Tower Monster Drops

  • Regular tower monsters may drop Meteorite Dust.
  • Fifth-floor bosses may drop Meteorite Dust and Meteorite Fragment.
  • Drops are chance-based. A monster may occasionally drop nothing.

Floor Skip System

A blue brazier allows the party leader to skip four floors. The cost increases after each use during the same run.

Skip Number Meteorite Dust Required
First skip 50
Second skip 75
Third skip 100
Fourth skip 125
Later skips Previous cost + 25

The Meteorite Dust is taken from the party leader activating the brazier.

Choosing a Boss Route

Floor 25

The party leader may:

  • Enter the dimensional gap and proceed toward the Naght Sieger Route.
  • Continue climbing toward Betelgeuse.

Floor 50

The party leader receives another choice:

  • Enter the dimensional gap and proceed to the boss area.
  • Continue climbing for a harder Betelgeuse challenge.

Floor 75

At Floor 75, the party advances to the top-floor boss area with a fixed high-difficulty configuration.

Warning: Entering the dimensional gap is a one-way decision. The party cannot return to the tower floors during that run.

Naght Sieger Route

The Naght Sieger route is the easier final route.

Starting the Battle

  1. Enter the dimensional gap from the lower tower route.
  2. Follow the dialogue with Oscar and Leticia.
  3. Walk near the boss entrance to register the hunting quest.
  4. The party leader speaks with Leticia to start the fight.

Battle Mechanics

Naght Sieger summons four supporting monsters during the battle. The supporting monsters disappear after a period and may be summoned again while Naght Sieger remains alive.

Naght Sieger Rewards

After defeating Naght Sieger, speak with Leticia to receive:

  • 3 Meteorite Fragments
  • 1 Soul of Naght Sieger

The Naght Sieger hunting quest must be registered and completed.

Betelgeuse Route

The Betelgeuse route is the main high-difficulty route.

Preparing for Betelgeuse

At the top floor, approach the goddess altar and speak with Oscar. The altar works as a healing fountain and, on the Betelgeuse route, controls the boss difficulty.

The party leader can adjust five abilities:

  • HP
  • Attack
  • Recovery
  • Resistance
  • Traps

Higher stars produce a higher total difficulty score and a stronger encounter.

Difficulty Score

Ability 1 Star 2 Stars 3 Stars 4 Stars 5 Stars
HP 15 30 45 60 75
Attack 20 40 60 80 100
Recovery 30 60 90 120 150
Resistance 50 100 150 200 250
Traps 85 170 255 340 425

Randomizing Abilities

Randomizing all five abilities costs:

20 Meteorite Dust

The existing settings are replaced by the new randomized settings.

Advanced Altar Functions

Higher-difficulty completions can unlock Fountain's Secret 1 and Fountain's Secret 2. These options allow the party leader to maximize or seal an ability by spending Meteorite Dust.

Starting the Betelgeuse Battle

  1. Finish configuring the constellation abilities.
  2. Speak with Oscar.
  3. The party leader opens the top-floor entrance.
  4. Enter the battle arena.
  5. Speak with Betelgeuse to begin.

The Betelgeuse hunting quest is registered for participating party members when the encounter begins.

Betelgeuse Battle Phases

Betelgeuse has three combat phases. The first and second disappearances are phase transitions, not the final defeat.

Phase 1

Fight until Betelgeuse reaches the first health threshold. The party is repositioned before the next phase.

Phase 2

Moving traps become active. The number and type of traps depend on the selected Trap difficulty.

Betelgeuse may create Souls of Betelgeuse. Each active soul increases the boss's resistance. Destroy the souls to reduce the resistance bonus.

Phase 3

Betelgeuse returns for the final combat phase with stronger mechanics. Defeating Betelgeuse in Phase 3 completes the encounter.

After the true final defeat:

  • The final Betelgeuse NPC appears.
  • The exit portal appears.
  • Treasure chests appear.
  • The Betelgeuse hunting quest is completed.

Betelgeuse Personal Rewards

After the final phase, speak with the final Betelgeuse NPC to claim the personal reward.

Reward Amount
Meteorite Dust 2 + total difficulty divided by 30
Meteorite Fragment 5 + total difficulty divided by 50
Soul of Betelgeuse 1

Fractions are rounded down by the server.

Important: Soul of Betelgeuse is received from the final NPC. The soul is not expected to drop automatically on the floor when the boss dies.

Special Treasure Chests

At least one completion chest appears after Betelgeuse is defeated. Higher difficulty can produce more chests.

Possible chest rewards include:

  • Power Meteorite Powder
  • Stamina Meteorite Powder
  • Concentration Meteorite Powder
  • Creative Meteorite Powder
  • Spell Meteorite Powder
  • Wisdom Meteorite Powder
  • Power Meteorite Fragment
  • Stamina Meteorite Fragment
  • Concentration Meteorite Fragment
  • Creative Meteorite Fragment
  • Spell Meteorite Fragment
  • Wisdom Meteorite Fragment
  • Additional Meteorite Fragments

Chest contents appear on the floor around the opened chest. Pick up the items immediately.

Costume Reward Thresholds

Total Difficulty Additional Chance
400 or higher Costume Drooping Betelgeuse
500 or higher Costume Betelgeuse Wig
600 or higher Costume Black Thunder

Costume rewards are chance-based and are not guaranteed.

Leaving the Instance

After finishing the final battle, use the exit portal near:

3@ch_t 156 96

Before leaving:

  1. Speak with the final boss NPC.
  2. Claim the personal completion reward.
  3. Open all available treasure chests.
  4. Pick up every generated item from the floor.

Leaving before claiming rewards may cause the player to lose the rewards from that run.

Unlocking the Alberta Shops

Completing the introductory Betelgeuse storyline completes New Owner Confrontation and unlocks the Constellation Tower vending machines in Alberta.

/navi alberta 203/76

Walk around the coordinates to activate the shop trigger.

Available services include:

  • Basic Shop
  • Advanced Shop
  • Nebula equipment enchanting
  • Signet of Star enchanting

Important Tips

  • Bring enough recovery items before entering.
  • Bring Meteorite Dust for floor skips and difficulty adjustment.
  • Only the party leader can operate important portals and start major events.
  • Stay near the party during floor transitions.
  • Destroy Souls of Betelgeuse to control the boss's resistance.
  • Higher difficulty provides more rewards but creates a harder battle.
  • Costume rewards require high difficulty and remain chance-based.
  • Do not leave before talking to the final NPC and opening the chests.

Troubleshooting

Oscar does not offer entry

Check that:

  • The character is Base Level 240 or higher.
  • The character is in a party.
  • The party leader created the instance.
  • The character is entering the correct party instance.
  • The cooldown has expired.

A floor portal does not work

Only the party leader can operate important portals. Required normal monsters must be defeated before progression unlocks.

No treasure chest appeared

Make sure the party defeated the true Phase 3 Betelgeuse. The first and second phase transitions do not count as the final defeat.

After a server script update, create a completely new Constellation Tower instance before testing.

No Soul of Betelgeuse was received

Speak with the final Betelgeuse NPC after completing the hunting quest. Soul of Betelgeuse is an NPC completion reward, not a regular ground drop.

The final NPC did not appear

The final NPC appears only after the real Phase 3 defeat. If the issue continues, report the party name, character name, approximate time, selected difficulty, and whether the exit portal or chests appeared.

Alberta vending machines are hidden
