Hollgrehenn - Equipment Refiner (NPC)
The Hollgrehen NPC allows players to refine eligible weapons and armor using the required refining materials.
Refining can improve the performance of equipment, but higher refinement levels may have a lower success rate. Players should review the required material, Zeny cost, and displayed success chance before confirming each attempt.
Hollgrehen supports eligible Level 1 to Level 5 weapons, as well as eligible armor.

The required refining material depends on the equipment type, weapon level, current refinement level, and selected refining method.
Some special, costume, Shadow, rental, or restricted equipment may use a different refining system or may not be eligible for refinement through Hollgrehen.
How to Refine Equipment
- Prepare the weapon or armor that you want to refine.
- Prepare the required refining material and Zeny.
- Visit Hollgrehen at
prt_in, 63, 61. - Speak to Hollgrehen to open the refining interface.
- Select the weapon or armor from the inventory.
- Review the required material and displayed success chance.
- Confirm the refining attempt.
- Check the equipment after the process is complete.
- Repeat the process if you want to attempt another refinement level.
Always confirm that the correct equipment is selected before pressing the Refine button.
Obtaining Refining Materials
Players can obtain many refining materials from the Mining Area.
To enter the Mining Area:
- Find the Warper NPC.
- Speak to the Warper NPC.
- Select Mining Area.
- Enter the area with suitable equipment and consumables.
- Search for a Variant Mineral Stone.
- Attack and destroy the Variant Mineral Stone.
- Collect the available refining materials.
- Return to town and use the materials through Hollgrehen.

The applicable safe level can depend on the equipment category and current GladiusRO configuration. Players should check the displayed success rate instead of assuming that every weapon and armor type follows the same safe limit.
After reaching the applicable safe range, further refinement may involve greater risk.
Recommended Refining Procedure
Before refining equipment:
- Confirm the exact weapon or armor.
- Check the equipment’s weapon level or category.
- Prepare the correct refining material.
- Prepare enough Zeny.
- Check the current refinement level.
- Review the displayed success chance.

Mining Area Preparation
Before farming Variant Mineral Stones, players should prepare:
- Suitable farming equipment
- Healing and recovery consumables

- Movement or escape resources
- PvP equipment when available

Refine Master - Equipment Refiner using refine ticket (NPC)
The Refine Master NPC provides a safe ticket-based refining service for eligible weapons and armor.
Using the appropriate Weapon Refine Ticket or Armor Refine Ticket, the NPC can refine equipment directly to the level stated on the ticket, from +5 up to +19. The equipment will not break during this ticket-refining process.

Supported Equipment
Based on the current Refine Master configuration, the NPC supports:

The selected equipment must be eligible for normal refinement. Costume equipment, Shadow equipment, accessories, rental equipment, and other non-refinable items may not be accepted. [Refine_master1 | Txt]
Important: The current NPC configuration does not list Level 5 weapons or Level 2 armor as supported. If GladiusRO later enables those equipment levels, this guide should be updated.
How the Refine Master Works
The Refine Master uses a matching Refine Ticket to raise eligible equipment directly to the refinement level written on the ticket.
For example:
- A +5 Weapon Refine Ticket raises an eligible weapon below +5 directly to +5.
- A +9 Armor Refine Ticket raises eligible armor below +9 directly to +9.
- A +15 Weapon Refine Ticket raises an eligible weapon below +15 directly to +15.
- A +19 Armor Refine Ticket raises eligible armor below +19 directly to +19.
The NPC consumes one matching Refine Ticket and the required amount of Zeny. The equipment is then safely refined to the ticket’s target level.

How to Use the Refine Master
- Obtain the appropriate Weapon or Armor Refine Ticket.
- Prepare the required amount of Zeny.
- Equip the weapon or armor that you want to refine.
- Visit the Refine Master NPC at
prt_in, 62, 57. - Speak to the NPC.
- Select“Let’s proceed to refine.”
- Select the equipped weapon or armor.
- Choose the Refine Ticket that you want to use.
- Review the target refinement level and Zeny cost.
- Confirm the refining process.
- Check the equipment after the process is complete.
The NPC only displays Refine Tickets currently available in the character’s inventory.
Equipment Must Be Equipped
The weapon or armor must be equipped before speaking to the Refine Master.
If the selected equipment position is empty, the NPC will not continue the refining process.
Before speaking to the NPC:
- Equip the correct weapon or armor.
- Confirm that the equipment can be refined.
- Keep the required Refine Ticket in the inventory.
- Prepare enough Zeny.
- Confirm the current refinement level.
Guaranteed Refinement
The Refine Master’s ticket service has no chance of refinement failure.
When all requirements are satisfied:
- The equipment will not break.
- The equipment will not lose refinement levels.
- The equipment will be raised directly to the ticket’s stated level.
- One Refine Ticket will be consumed.
- The applicable Zeny fee will be deducted.
This makes the Refine Master different from conventional refining NPCs, where higher refinement attempts may have a risk of failure.
Target Refinement Rules
The selected equipment must be refined below the target level stated on the ticket.
For example:
- A +7 ticket can be used on equipment below +7.
- A +11 ticket can be used on equipment below +11.
- A +19 ticket can be used on equipment below +19.
A ticket cannot be used when the equipment is already refined to the same or a higher level.
For example:
- A +9 ticket cannot be used on a +9 weapon.
- A +11 ticket cannot be used on a +12 armor.
- A +19 ticket cannot be used on equipment already refined to +19.
Choosing the Correct Ticket
Weapons and armor require separate tickets.
Use:
- A Weapon Refine Ticket for eligible weapons.
- An Armor Refine Ticket for eligible armor.
A Weapon Refine Ticket cannot be used on armor, and an Armor Refine Ticket cannot be used on a weapon.
The ticket’s target level must also be higher than the equipment’s current refinement level.
